THE PAMPLIN STANDARD: F.I.T.

A Judicial Philosophy Built on Fairness, Integrity, and Transparency

Throughout her 34-year career, Lesa Pamplin has seen what works and what doesn't in the justice system. She has witnessed fairness and bias, integrity and corruption, transparency and secrecy. From these experiences, she has developed a clear judicial philosophy that will guide every decision she makes on the bench. The Pamplin Standard—F.I.T.—represents her commitment to the principles that must be the foundation of every courtroom.

THE PAMPLIN STANDARD: F.I.T.

FAIRNESS

Unwavering and impartial justice for every citizen, in every case.

INTEGRITY

The bedrock of every ruling, grounded firmly in the law.

TRANSPARENCY

Justice you can see and trust, with accountability to the community.

FAIRNESS

Unwavering and Impartial Justice for Every Citizen, in Every Case

Fairness is the cornerstone of justice. Every person who enters the courtroom—regardless of their background, their resources, or their circumstances—deserves to be treated with equal respect and to have their case judged on its merits. Fairness means setting aside personal biases, following the law consistently, and ensuring that justice is not influenced by factors that should be irrelevant. As a judge, Lesa will bring the same impartial approach to every case, whether it involves a first-time offender or a repeat criminal, a wealthy defendant or someone who cannot afford an attorney. The law applies equally to all, and that principle will guide every ruling.

INTEGRITY

The Bedrock of Every Ruling, Grounded Firmly in the Law

Integrity means doing what is right even when no one is watching. It means making decisions based on the law and the facts, not on political pressure, public opinion, or personal gain. A judge with integrity follows the Constitution, respects precedent, and has the courage to make difficult decisions when the law requires it. Lesa's career has been built on integrity—from her service as a Police Officer upholding the law on the streets, to her work as a Prosecutor seeking justice rather than just convictions, to her practice as a Defense Attorney fighting for her clients' rights even when it was unpopular. That same integrity will define her service on the bench.

TRANSPARENCY

Justice You Can See and Trust, with Accountability to the Community

Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done. Transparency means conducting court proceedings openly, explaining decisions clearly, and being accountable to the community. When people understand how and why judicial decisions are made, they can trust the system even when they disagree with a particular outcome. Lesa believes that judges serve the public and must be accessible and accountable. She will run a courtroom that is open, respectful, and understandable, where everyone can see that justice is being administered fairly and according to law.
